Default Great Idea

US gave $3.7 million to China's Wuhan lab that conducted coronavirus tests on bats

They are actually a close ally, makes that one harder. Also they are suing the government, which as a whole is not a rogue regime, not a designated terror supporter, and not know to actually support terrorism against the US.

Also I know enough about regional dynamics and politics to be confident that while plenty of saudi citizens have terroristic sympathies (same with the rest of the region), and some junior government and royal family members were sure to be involved with AQ, the senior family and government as a whole was most certainly not. They are in a precarious position over there, we are their best ally, and they know which side of their bread is buttered... AQ would have all the senior saudis swinging from lightpoles if they ever pulled off a coup over there.

Two junior royal family members were quickly identified as having links to AQ immediately after 9/11. One had an automobile "accident", the other a hunting "accident" within days. That was to save embarrassment of the family, vice a public trial and beheading.

The saudis have to publicly play to their people's populist ideas, which include extremism and terrorism. But behind closed doors they are solid allies. In fact you'd surprised how tight they are with Israel... the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and there's only one real enemy in that region. Shia and Sunni hate each other far more than they hate infidels.

Anything telling you otherwise is blogosphere tin-foil hat BS, kind of like the CIA blew up the twin towers after the planes hit them.

The same smart people that called a Muslim schoolteacher a terrorist supporter with zero evidence and almost got a newspaper sued for libel? Or the same smart people that were getting paid tens of thousands of dollars a month by the Japanese government to put out anti-China publications?

(To be fair, China deserves an incredible amount of ire and criticism, I just don’t think these are “smart people”.)

I misremembered, he was a scout leader not a teacher but the accusations were still false.

Anytime! Sorry if I was a little snarky in my response. If you find a better source that shows it’s a legitimate possibility to sue China please let me know.

No problem......thats why I always ask for a reference.....there is alot of BS on here and some people swallow it hook line and sinker.

Just keeping us all honest.

Hmm a credible source....are you in?! Ha.
There is a link to the class action here. 10000 ppl signed up to far.

I would put my money on reparations being paid. Especially when (if) it is found that it was manmade.

Some people here have scoffed at the suggestion that action against China won't take place or is futile. Well.....I posit that it will happen, the question is simply the manner in which it happens. Individual consumers showing more discretion, corperations shifting supply chains, conglomerates taking legal action or governemnts flexing muscle.

Placing all of this aside the west now has STATEGIC moral superiority over China and I wouldn't be surprised if this was leveraged to take action on China's overreach in the SC Sea.

Kinetic, political, social or economic warfare is coming with China. The question is.....what mix of these four will be pursued.

211,208 people 'like' the flat earth society facebook page....so the 10,000 on a petition isn't impressive
