It is positive news. Look at the trend. If you put it into a graph, it would be trending up at about the same rate it was trending down while in 110-120k range early april. I’ll take it at this point! Now, next week and especially next month I hope to see it higher and trending.

200k is the next benchmark.

If we can go into fall at 750K ish and enter January 2021 with 1M, then I will take it. Hopefully 2M by January 2022.

destroy Rome, can't rebuild it overnight.

If we are back to normal in 2 years/24 months then I will jump for joy

Your statement demonstrates a lack of understanding of certain mathematic principles, specifically the behavior of exponents.. The average rate of change per day compared to same day week prior is about 16%. While this is significantly less than the rate of decline, it is nonetheless a significant growth rate that has persisted for about a week. Apply an exponent of 1.16 (16%) for a short time and you don't see much change, but if it's applied periodically (weekly, in this case) for a period of four or five months, that change is very significant.

agree. once a few "seed people" start telling others that it is OK to fly again, folks will start coming back.

And did you expect anything differently? Nobody can transit HKG or arrive without the 14 day quarantine no? Why wouldn’t there be hundreds of planes on the ground at this point?

Exactly. Literally no countries are open for travel without extreme quarantine measures so it's to be expected

154,695 yesterday. Trending the right way. Also have to say the flights are getting "fuller". Granted there are less flights now but instead of 170 empty seats there are more like 70.

Yep. And that's a 38% increase over same day week prior. Average growth per day vs. week prior over the previous seven days has averaged 21.6%. Daily average for the last seven days was 122,939.

It's difficult to see this as anything other than positive, though I'm sure some will put their best efforts into doing so.
