We need a plan B for no vaccine.

Positive news. Seems the virus’s shield is fairly week compared to other viruses such as hiv.

Plan B, or at least a bridge to plan B will be monoclonal antibodies such as those that have been created by Distributed Bio / Centivax. The military already tested the on hamsters. Sick hamsters get better in a day. Give it a healthy hamster and then spray coved in their face? They don’t get sick.
Of course the downside of antibodies is that they only last a few months before you need a booster. But no question they’re a game changer.

The article is misleading, there was a single sample from Mar 2019 that tested positive for a Novel type Coronavirus, they are working to confirm it was Covid19. Several other universities are doing the same thing. I would bet there is a 99.9% chance that it is not SARS2, and it's a different Coronavirus, or it's contamination/experimental error.

FL, TX, and AZ just rolled back their reopenings and FL announced their beaches will be closed over July 4 weekend. Judging from that graph, FL is doing just fine, but the reality is some of the most adamantly red states are going backwards in reopening because of data that isn't reflected on there.
Using the 2016 presidential election results, there's no state that is uniformly one color or another. Politically speaking, there are many states that will reliably pledge their electors to one party, but this hardly comes close to characterizing all of the people in the state. Think about the percentages applied to a room of 10 people.
- Hawaii is the "bluest" with 6 Hillary voters, 3 Trump voters, and 1 other voter
- Wyoming is the "reddest" with 7 Trump voters, 2 Hillary voters, and 1 other voter.
- There are 13 "red" states that can muster 7 out of ten voters, but in the 37 other states it's 6 or less.
- In 28 states, the winner can only muster 5 out of 10 voters.
Perhaps if we realize that neither side is going away, we can come up with better solutions.
The only exception is DC. 9 out of 10 voted for Hillary, and the last guy can't make up his mind. They're hopeless, but I think we all knew that.

A bit of a tangent here. If you're trying to avoid politicizing this, you might want to reconsider statements like "adamantly red states." Labeling states as red or blue is worthless, except to political analysts who care about the next election results. It's just another way that our political class divides us.

Yup. At this point who cares who you voted for? Politicizing this is leading nowhere and making it harder to discern good information from bad. There are countries that spend millions to try and divide us and we’re helping them doing it for free. Go back and read the first rule of posting here. Last I looked it was no partisan politics.

Which is why it would be nice if people addressed the ISSUES raised in the OP (or at least made an effort to refute them) rather than immediately jumping in to political straw man arguments on either side, or - for that matter - shooting the messenger.

Nobel Laureate Stanford Professor Michael Levitt claims herd immunity is 15%, not the 80% that epidemiologists predicted.

Hopefully they’ll soon acknowledge that controlling the virus is impossible in a country like the USA. Or maybe they already have...
The lockdowns sure were useful. Good God.
