A Word From The Young People

Precisely, individual choice. Older generations should’ve taken responsibility cause they’re evidently so great and not offload onto the younger ones. Now it’s our problem you all couldn’t stay inside. That’s all the old farts had to do, was stay inside and wear a mask if you went out. But somehow the younger generations are selfish. Sheesh.
What have you done besides complain to a bunch of anonymous Internet personalities about your desired changes? Have you contacted any of your local/state/federal representatives?
As the meme says, it's all so tiresome. So much mental and emotional energy gets expended on here and it accomplishes absolutely nothing more than taking a hammer and pounding a box of sand.

Here we are, six pages and a few weeks later. You still want change, obviously.

Currently sitting at a roof top bar. DD for my girlfriend and her friends (someone shoot me). So it’s a restaurant and roof top bar. Very organized line outside and metered entry with capacity, all masks on. Once you make it to the rooftop, everyone is in their section about 4 feet apart.
But here’s the thing, a group of guys to my right are smoking and juuling, catches the wind and hits everyone sitting with no mask on. Walk up to the bar and order, no masks on.
I’m so confused. This is all a facade and a house of cards. Capacity limits, 6 foot lines and face masks all sound good on paper. But then it goes out the window when my burger breath hits catches the wind.
This is never gonna end.

I wouldnt worry about smoke. Smoke is a much finer particulate than saliva droplets, its range is much farther. Being outside with a breeze is better than being inside.
Imperfect public health compliance is still better than none. And remember, we won't see the dividends for good behavior for a couple of weeks at least.
Keep hoping for the best and planning for the worst.

78,000 new cases today. New record.

It is beginning to seem like the resurgence of coronavirus reflects a mutation giving it greater infectivity, and that strain is now beginning to dominate worldwide:

Mutation Makes SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus ‘Much More Stable’
The two Scripps scientists have studied coronaviruses for nearly 20 years and performed extensive research on the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak that occurred in 2003. They noted that there is a difference between spike proteins of SARS, an earlier strain of coronavirus, and the new SARS-CoV-2 strain.
The protein spikes of both strains were originally tripod shaped. However, the spikes of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus are divided into two different segments: S1 and S2. According to the published study: “The S1domain mediates receptor binding, and the S2 mediates downstream membrane fusion.”
This feature originally produced unstable spikes, but with the D614G mutation, the tripod breaks less frequently, which makes more of the spikes fully functional and the virus more infectious.
“Our data are very clear, the virus becomes much more stable with the mutation,” Choe said in the news release.

Bro you’re worried about catching the virus but yet you’re the one at that bar in a setting with no masks. Anyways you should probably do a bit of research. It’s like the fart principle..... You’re smelling fart not inhaling their droplets. Farts(or smoke) are many times more microscopic than droplets which carry the virus. Most of the time droplets gets stopped by the mask, not farts(or smoke). That’s why you can still smell them even after it passed layers of cloth.
