Some do but the numbers aren't really going to explode until the majority of people in this country decide that they've had enough and pull the masks off and start living again regardless of what their local, state or fed pols are telling them.

But, if 1 to 1.5 is what we can sustain, I'll take it. It seems it has reduced the bleeding and some carriers are turning a very minor profit or close to it. LCCs and ULCCs in particular.
Funny you say that. FL just is no longer under a state of emergency and no mandates of any kind will occur. If Disney (and any other businesses) still wants masks, it’ll happen though.

Statewide, sure. Counties have their mask mandates, and they have not yet been lifted.

Not true actually. DeSantis issued an EO yesterday which invalidates all local-level CV restrictions.

If individual businesses want to keep things in place they are free to do so, but they cannot be enforced by county or city governments.

This is going to be very interesting how it plays out. Currently most large businesses in my city in FL all state “masks required due to local ordinance.” Well now it’s not required but as you said, the business can require it. They will have to change their signs if they plan to continue the charade. I suspect a couple months of awkward moments before the nonsense is fully over.

I was curious about this as well. My gym in Palm Beach County has always had the same ‘...due to local ordinance...’ signs up and still did when I came in today. Nobody wears masks inside anyways, but they still have the posters up.

If it's anything like Texas, the signs will stay up to appease the Masked Covidians, but will not be enforced. The huge grocery store chain in Texas, HEB, still has signs up and even someone at the door offering masks, but if refused - their management has instructed their employees to not enforce. This is purely to appease the crazies who send letters, emails, and go on social media tirades because they dare allow people in their business without masks.

It was part of the local ordinances to avoid the business getting fined. That was the first step they had to do. Next was to actually ask the patrons to put on a mask and provide one if needed. As long as they followed those steps they couldn’t be fined by the county for attempting to enforce the ordinance. I’m seeing more and more people not wearing them. It’s great to see faces again.

Yep, this. The signs are still up in most businesses even today. But it’s not being enforced ANYWHERE that I have been since the mandate was rescinded. Almost immediately, I observed that about half the customers everywhere stopped wearing masks and now it’s probably more like 15%, maybe less. Employees in most places seem to be wearing them, in all but the smallest of business so I guess their employers are still requiring it for employees. I would expect the same in Florida for the most part.

It’s funny you mention HEB. Our HEB never had anyone handing out masks at the door, even during the mandate. One day during the mandate, while walking from car to the front door, the only mask I had on me broke. Figured they would have some at the entrance but nope... not at either entrance. Only masks they had were three fourths of the way back in the store, for sale. No one said anything to me as I walked through the store looking for masks.
