There is no denial issue. You are a liar. You just stated this is worse than it's ever been, and that is absolutely incorrect. In fact, this "second wave" - that we've been warned about for months, hasn't been close to as deadly as what we saw in the first round.
Get lost, Drone Guy.

And let me help you with your denial issues.
- No, Daddy did not go for cigarettes.
- No, Daddy will not be right back.
- Yes, COVID is going to kill 1500+ Americans on average per day for the next 4 weeks. That's like having a 9/11 every 2 days for the month of August.
Look, I get that things are bad for a lot of us. But pretending this isn't happening doesn't help anything.

Well, it's not even August 1st, and we're here. To be fair, this has exceeded all of our expectations with how much death this virus can bring. And we're not even close to being done yet. The fall and winter are going to be absolutely devastating without a major course correction.
It's a trip to go back to when the outbreak first started in March and April to read the predictions of where this was going. I'm curious if some of those early deniers have evolved their positions. I would guess not. Here's Speed Select's post from two days ago:
So obviously he hasn't evolved from his position from months ago. One thing he's absolutely wrong on. It's not survival of the fittest, it's survival of the richest. The rich will have the resources to remove themselves from high risk scenarios where the poor will not. The rich will have access to high quality healthcare to keep them breathing, and the poor will not.
This natural selection nonsense is complete and utter propaganda. We aren't living on the plains of the Sub-Saharan savanna. We have a very unequal society which completely takes Darwinism off the table.
So coldly in return, Speed Select, I say take your economic hardship like a man. Your poor excuses for the deaths of hundreds of thousands are revolting and prejudicial at its core.
Those who prioritize the economy over health will get neither.

This is still the first wave.

Yep, every single state is following the Diamond Princess model exactly, no exceptions, that does mean MO is on deck, with a couple others. CA is also still in the beginning phase. However, R0 will be below 1 for the whole of the USA in 1-2 weeks.

Every major population center will see a wave. You can delay it, string it out, let it roll through, it doesn't matter. It will happen. Sweden let it roll through and now they're basically done with the virus. India, Australia, Hong Kong, Vietnam held it off and now it's happening. The US is stringing it out, and the effect is prolonged Wutface posts.
Now that WARN letters are going out and airline pilots are facing the reality of life without the government taking care of your paycheck, we will most likely see more and more pilots ease off their pro-lockdown and fear-based Covid positions.
