Reservoir animals...
Look, I realize most of us aren’t exactly tripping over minks, but if it’s got a reservoir in one animal it likely can infect others too.
We have a GREAT vaccine for yellow fever but have never eliminated it because of reservoir animals. https://www.studyfinds.org/mink-stud...nimals-humans/ Looks like this may be with us for a long time. |

Also, unlike flu, the perception that covid is dangerous would drive the pro-active destruction of livestock in the event of an outbreak. Doesn't matter much if you give it to your pet, as long as you know to quarantine Fido too.
