Look, I realize most of us aren’t exactly tripping over minks, but if it’s got a reservoir in one animal it likely can infect others too.


We have a GREAT vaccine for yellow fever but have never eliminated it because of reservoir animals.

Looks like this may be with us for a long time.

Doesn't matter much either way, as long as it's not specific domestic livestock which could serve as a very large reservoir and steady-state or cyclical conduit, like with the flu. Also, unlike flu, the perception that covid is dangerous would drive the pro-active destruction of livestock in the event of an outbreak.

Doesn't matter much if you give it to your pet, as long as you know to quarantine Fido too.


Most likely, but so are many other pathogens, including some which are quite a bit scarier than covid.
