I don’t know what you mean by calling him a dishonest politician? When I hear this I think of some congressmen saying whatever to get votes so he can stay in power, stay relevant or for whatever self-serving reason. What is Fauci angling for?

Lockdowns have caused a significant amount of destruction. Much of which we won’t fully understand until 1QT21. There has been 35,000 excess deaths alone In Alzheimer’s and dementia deaths so far this year. Not because of the virus, but the insane policies surrounding it. There are excess deaths across the board. Then on top of this the economic carnage, the explosion in global humanitarian crises’, the explosion in depression and anxiety, increases in suicides, people losing their livelihoods, their businesses, their hope. New Zealand hasn’t beaten the virus. Their people have completely lost their freedoms and they are confined to perpetual lockdown. They will have their day eventually. In the mean time, We have created an entire generation of germaphobes to the Detriment of all of us. A total lack of understanding of the synergistic relationship we all live in. There is no evidence masks have had any positive effect. The only argument is East Asia. This is more likely due to cross immunity than a mask. In much of the rest of the world their explosion in “cases” didn’t occur until after masks were mandated. Which is interesting when looking at the recent CDC study that showed of the cases studied 70% always wore a mask and 3% never did. At some point we have to consider if the mask is increasing the spread as people are forced to strap the mask they just touched, to their face. And then breathe it in for hours.

Israeli MDs: Lockdown is a big mistake
https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/...d-19-1.9237918
The country's hospitals are not collapsing, the lockdown does more harm than good and the policy for dealing with COVID is fundamentally wrong. An increasing number of senior physicians are convinced.
“My impression is that if 1 is, it’s only flu and 10 is a colossal disaster, we’re between 2 and 3, at most. Ultimately, this is a viral disease, so there is a movement today that objects to its categorization as a pandemic.”

Having given that as a possible explanation, I will say that it has not been confirmed either way that I'm aware of, but that would be a motive driven politically. I don't think he's that callous to destroy American lives to get a desired presidential change, now Nancy Pelosi on the other hand is absolutely that awful. She called CNN's Wolf Blitzer a Republican apologist when he suggested that she should accept a less than perfect deal to help the average American.

Considering the accusation that he's a Democrat, a Democrat president and the removal of Trump.
