Lockdown Part 2

Do you know what a “death rate” is? Hint, the US is nowhere near the worst, classified by D/100K. The EU average is worse than the US, and every large EU country except Germany, is worse than the US.

We are currently 4th in deaths per capita in countries with populations greater than 20 million. Peru, Brazil, Spain only lead us. Peru and Brazil have already had their winter. We're just coming into ours. Spain is currently managing their outbreak with more aggressive restrictions.
We will lead the world in deaths per million by next spring. Don't be shy. Own that. We've worked hard to ignore the virus and strive for the fool's gold of 'herd immunity.'
Keep reaching for grave, GF. You'll get there eventually.

I'd be disappointed, but not shocked if he won. It's all about turnout. Overall general election turnout percentage has hovered in the 50%, so it's all about whose supporters are more motivated to get out and vote.
He could still pull this off because of his hard to identify, but very motivated, SHY....rather...EMBARRASSED voters. We'll see. haha

If by "us" you live in a country that is NOT the United States, we agree *again*!
Oh man, this is awesome!! You are turning over a new leaf! First you admit the media is in the tank with non stop whining, then you admit the Russian Collusion not only blew up, but that story turned on its masters, and now you admit that your country is doing MUCH worse than the United States!!
Because, gosh, if that's not what you're saying you're making up crap.
And that makes you look bad.
And your "side" looks bad too when they are throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks.
That would be desperate....but clearly that's not what you're doing, right?

I'm huge fan of the 1st amendment because not least of which, is that fools out themselves. No need to clamp their speech, put it out there for all to see/hear.

If these countries were following the “expert” advice then why are they going back into hard lockdowns? Is the “expert” advice wrong? Why have some of these countries fared better, while others fared worse (all listening to the “experts”), while others are trending worse all in regards to the US? Why can’t we tell from the charts which countries enacted which policies and when? Now are these countries ignoring the WHO in regards to lockdowns?
We know the protocols work because China used lockdowns along with masks, testing, social distancing, quarantining, etc to effectively combat the virus and return to normalcy. Yes, normalcy... without a vaccine....

I think the US and Europe, being open societies, find it harder to take those truly draconian measures where the entire population would be required to comply with a given directive, without much leeway or exceptions. Or in the case of say other Asian countries, where there just seems to be a cultural acceptance to the notion that a collective buy in is required in the fight against any national adversity.
In the case of the US, we just don't like being told what to do. Yes, it's great in many respects, but maybe we are hobbled in a situation where the country needs to get everybody pulling in the same direction, in the shortest amount of time.
I'm not speaking to the rightness or the wrongness of the political idealogy btw, just the fact that oftentimes what we gain with one thing, we lose with another. Kinda like The Right to Privacy vs The Maintenance of National Security.
