You can start in antiquity with Athens and work your way up time from there. History is littered with the corpses of nations that were democracies at one time or another. Plato wrote about, Socrates was sentenced to death ultimately by the Athenian "democracy". Socrates had a few choice things to say about democracies as well (not positive).
Of course you are too intellectually lazy to bother. So what's the point in arguing about with you.

Your reading comprehension is weak. Of course there are democratic nations that have collapsed. My point was that I don't think that there is any example of the collapse of a nation where the cause was the use of the popular vote. Examples from antiquity aren't exactly relevant either because those "democracies" were typically limited to landholders, and don't really resemble the system of enfranchisement we have in the United States. Examples like Nazi Germany don't exactly work either because of the rampant voter intimidation at that time in Germany, and the aftereffects of WW1 and the Treaty of Versaille probably had more to do with it.
In any case, it's not worth arguing with you because you either willfully misinterpreted what I said or maybe you're a bit obtuse. I don't think the electoral college should be a left v right issue, but enjoy your disingenuous and unnecessarily partisan views of the world I guess

The left is calling for unity, and what they really mean is "wouldn't it be great if you all thought like we did? Then we could be unified! Doesn't that sound great?" (This is after they called everyone they disagreed with a racist and a Nazi for the last 4 years straight).
