Well not really, if countries won’t allow entry to unvaccinated people that might keep international flying from coming back.

Do foreign countries make sure you’re vaccinated against measles or polio?

How would they prove this? Doctors note? Can I get that from the same place I get my emotional support animal certification? What if enough high dollar business travelers don’t get the vaccine, will the government lobby other countries to open up regardless? etc etc etc

My guess - once a proven vaccine is rolled out, and cases trend towards zero, life will return to normal. Too much money on the line to keep things closed up.

There are certain countries that require a yellow fever vaccine for entry, you must Carry the documentation( a card with certain info) given by the facility that gave you the shot, I’m guessing we might see the same for COVID

Yes.

But in the meantime, expect many (most?) foriegn countries to require vaccination of all inbound aliens. Politically (and actually common sense) that's a no brainer, even if the locals are not required to vaccinate.

I'd guess 3-5 years of required vaccination, and that's if covid dwindles into obscurity.

In addition to the Yellow Fever card, I always carry my yellow in color vaccination record. It is in my packet with my passport. I never leave home without it.

Pretty sure you can cut that 58% in half. I suppose with Joe Soros in office he could start threatening but that will go ugly fast

Thanks for proving the point...

One interesting suggestion floating around:

Pay individuals $1500 to get the sequence of shots for the vaccine.

It would develop herd immunity, provide broad based fiscal stimulus, and arguably benefit consumer confidence in a big way (because most people can't imagine leaving $1,500 on the table..the default assumption would be most people did it, if only for the check).

(The cynic take: All the unwashed masses get to take a vaccine that may be risky due to a rush job (no longitudinal studies), and people with means don't get the shots because $1500 isn't worth the risk...the plebs will create herd immunity).

Historically the leaders in society exempt themselves from the mandates placed on the masses. This will be no different.

Let’s see if the vaccine works first.

If some employers require the vaccination for employment (which has well established case law especially in non k (work for hire states) for other vaccines (such as tb for prison guards). Any employer not doing this is going to create pretty clear negligent theory in hiring practices if outbreak happens. Once these type of actions o
are filed employers gl line policies will start to require broad vaccination or loss of coverage. Legislatures could help facilitate this will giving carriers a statutory gap of coverage for failure to vaccinate insureds employees.

Yes employer liability (and insurebility) is shaping up to be a huge factor in this.

Legislation is the wild card, that could go either way. Different states could do different things, and the fed could preempt them all with a national standard. Or not.

But the 2021 congress + executive is probably not going to leave the ABA hanging out to dry with nobody to sue.
