Please post a reference and/or pictures. That would be great to see; I had no idea you could transmit the virus out of your eyes.

The corona virus can spread through (via) the eyes just as with the mouth and nose (like other bacterial and viral diseases). It is a route of transmission but seems less able to carry an effective viral load than the mouth or nose. I am not here to promote wearing goggles. Just saying the eyes are a transmission route for the corona virus, to a lesser degree.

Yup. If you're masking for you own protection and don't already wear glasses, might want to consider it, every little bit might help.

You could get stylish hipster glasses with plain uncorrected lenses. Isn't as awkward or silly as safety googles or faceshield and is probably going to reduce risk a bit.

Or go all out...

Yes, agree that it is possible to get it through eyes (though less likely). Not to give it to someone else that way.

We don't mandate mask use to protect the user - they don't - but because they protect the mask wearer from spreading the virus - that is supposed to be the logic behind the mandates and the reason for me not being allowed to be "selfish" and make my own decisions on acceptable risk. It protects you which protects me.

However, wearing goggles would seem designed only to protect the user - unless you are suggesting I can spread the virus with my uncovered eyes, which would be stupid. So if I don't feel like getting on the stupid train and wearing goggles or tyvek suits in public, for that matter, what is the moral argument to shame me into wearing goggles exactly?

Unless you are in a respirator program using an N95; masking with a piece of cloth offers little to no protection for the wearer and has NEVER been part of the justification for mandating face masks put forth by WHO or the CDC. It has always been justified by the idea of asymptomatic spread and as a "you protect me" type measure.

My point being that I cannot logically connect wearing goggles or glasses to the same kind of justification.

US citizens now required to perform a medical procedure in order to be able to return to their homeland. The psychopaths will never stop.

Get real, it's not a "medical procedure" it's a nose swab. You could make the case that a blood draw might be getting invasive, but they don't need to do that.

You’re a closet communist. I can’t even muster a response to that besides what I said. Sick. Not to mention it’s unconstitutional, but who cares right? Communism doesn’t care about the constitution. For the record, you’re ok with the government swabbing your brain in order to freely return to your home country. Got it. Commie.
