Then give them a covid bonus. But the larger issue has nothing to do with covid, which is why some people crossed the aisle to shoot it down. I'm not opposed to a hike (that accounts for the fact that COL and economics in manhattan are not the same as KY or WV), but it has no business being jammed through with covid aid.

It's truly ridiculous. Paying guys $200k plus to sit at home a year after their profession went in to the dirt? Never has this country seen such an insane amount of pork to a, ironically conservative, bunch of people not working.

"The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money." - Alexis deTocqueville

$1.9T this week, and a similar amount last year

"Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great." - Alexis deTocqueville

In the pandemic, churches-closed, 1st&14th amendment - sidelined, law & order- reviled,
BUT - liquor stores, Walmart & McD - open.
Not Good, certainly not Great

Enough is enough already. Provide a halfway decent product or go under.

Hopefully we’re not stupid enough to pass another Bailout again like this, oh but we will and the idiocy will continue. Time to sink or swim. Stand up on your own 2 feet. Hopefully traction is gained this summer/late fall, it is what it is and we’ll witness just how bad the economy is or isn’t business wise. Open the flood gates not related to debt.

Moderators,

Was there something wrong with Tuck's thread? Sorry you guys don't want to hear the truth as you're sitting at home this past year. It was part of an ALPA com and an opinion many of us share.

I wasn’t aware that pilots were the only airline employees benefitting from CARES money. Should pilots be specifically excluded?

The issue is a lot of people outside of aviation indusrty are being excluded.

After 9/11 aviation jobs were decimated.

Remember the auto bailout? That didn't help us then.

How about the trade war and agricultural aid?

This time aviation was spared.

I do agree with you though, aviation got a big boost that several other industries didn't.

Ok, the post I was responding to had nothing to do with other industries so that isn't "the issue" at all. While I wouldn't necessarily disagree that other industries deserved a bailout it is a story for another thread.

Airlines and unions did a great job emphasizing that aviation would be key to economic recovery.......because it is. What other industry was as hard hit as aviation while simultaneously being vital to the economy?
