Yes an interesting question. All humans do self-undermining or self-harming things, so perhaps this is a question of degree.

In this instance, perhaps the simplest response is doing objectively - ah, there’s a word, isn’t there - self-damaging things while assuring themselves they have some moral high ground.

We teach toddlers just because one “can” do something doesn’t mean one “should” do it. We had a “Toddler-in-Chief” for the last four years, and that seems to have emboldened many like-minded adult-children to throw their rattles and not play well with others. It’s juvenile and also self-destructive.

I am fine with self-destructive (because it’s their right) as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. But most of them don’t cate about anyone else. Which is also, well, stupid, since humanity can’t survive without cooperation.

Those of you who see yourself described in this post, please feel free to self-identify by speaking up. Add some whatabouts and name calling too, just like your Trumpanzee Manual says, and every one will be very impressed ... uh ... well...
