Have you elected to not take the jab? Looking for a jumpseat? Well, your company may not require the vaccine, and the airline you’re riding on may not require it, but Capt. Himmler here wants to take it upon himself to check your papers if you want to ride in his cockpit. Mark my words, this is coming next. Couldn’t agree more. Many of them truly think they are heros. I’m sure it’s a great environment in their flight deck... Did someone say God complex?

I always stop the driver next to me while I’m barreling down the highway at .80 and make sure they are not under the influence of anything funny.

That's going to be CA discretion, like everything else JS. No way you can force the issue. No company is going to force their pilots to fly with a JSer they're not comfortable with. Hopefully there's a seat in the back.

Very few people will be that anal, it's going to be a 1% thing and YOUR airline is going to have that very same 1%. But thanks for bringing it up, I hadn't thought to carry my vaccine card with my passport.

BTW it's "nip it it in the bud", I'm not sure if butt nipping is appropriate for APC, we try to keep it PG-13.

I just don’t see how they have the authority to ask anyone that question. I fear that if this kind of behavior is not rebuked, it will become the norm for crews of a certain political affiliation to deny jumpseat access based on private medical information. What’s next? Will vaccinated Captains refuse to fly with FOs who aren’t vaccinated, even if the company doesn’t require it? This is a slippery slope.

I'm going to start kicking fat pilots out of the jumpseat just to make them walk an extra trip up the jetbridge. They clearly need the exercise, and it if saves one life it's worth it!
