We’d be better off without them.

Thank goodness they are not mandating Chantix.

Chantix. the anti-smoking, FDA approved drug made by - you guessed it - Pfizer has been recalled due to a carcinogen presence.

The first gave us eugenics in America, the second was a later overturned free speech case that initially allowed the federal government to prosecute people who handed out flyers protesting conscription (WWI) under the federal Espionage Act.

Smart, powerful people can embrace very dumb, very dangerous ideas that encroach on individual liberties under the flag of what's for the "greater good". Our elites are VERY smart and highly credentialed, but they are not gods; the US still has the forms of a republic; a mere regulatory agency (OSHA) imposing it's will on 80+ million Americans will ruffle feathers.

This could very well lead to a Congressional mandate, which is probably completely legal. One political party will own it, however; not sure if they're up to the task.

Completely legal and enforceable are not necessarily members of the same set. Prohibition was completely legal - backed up by a constitutional amendment passed by an overwhelming bipartisan super majority both in Congress and in the state legislatures. But most people caught breaking it were never brought to trial and of those who were, 60% of trials lead to acquittals and/or hung juries, even when the perpetrator was unequivocally guilty of the crime with which they were charged.

It was sort of a model for the sit-ins they did to dramatize the stupidity of ‘colored’ bathrooms and water fountains and ‘back of the bus’ regulations during the civil disobedience days of the civil rights movement. Make penalties too small, and there was no real deterrent effect and you lost money on every case you prosecuted. Make penalties too big and you not only lost in the court of public opinion, you couldn’t get jurors to actually convict.

As for getting OSHA to enforce this, I think OSHA has about 2000 inspectors nationwide, ostensibly already doing other important stuff. Getting them spun up to enforce a regulation on 100 million people every six months, ASSUMING THEY ACTUALLY GET THE RULE WRITTEN, ought to be…interesting.

OSHA has 800 inspectors to go after 100k+ businesses

This is a bluff. They haven't even started on the ERS.

OSHA be looking like the RCA dog when this came out. Blindsided them.

24 States' AG Defiance to OSHA mandate

Published yesterday. 24 States' AG against the mandate. GA being one of them and GA being the HQ of a certain major airline.

This is original .pdf. Not giving Scribd the clicks.

They present a pretty good case.

The majority of businesses actually appear to be happy with the mandate... gives them the excuse to crack down and eliminate liability, along with most covid-induced absenteeism and operational disruption.

No, the majority of businesses are not

The majority of businesses are small business, not fortune 500.

They are most certainly not happy about this.

However it is a nothing burger right now cause OSHA hasn't published a single word.

Well…considering I personally know about 10 business owners that fall under this, and not a single one of them is happy about it…I’m going to have to disagree with you. Over half are in the construction industry and know that a lot of their employees will quit over it. Two are in the IT/tech industry, and say the same.

I can’t say that most business owners that this will affect disagree with it, because I don’t know all of them….but I will say that all of the business owners I KNOW that this will affect disagree with it.

One has already started transferring some of his business, and soon employees, to another “company” he owns to drop the main one under 100. Another that is at around 120 employees has started taking a walk around the parking lot to see who has Biden bumper stickers in case he needs to get under 100…

New York BLM Leader Promises National ‘Uprising’ Over ‘Racist’ Vaccine Mandates

Chivona Newsome, an organizer with Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, led a protest on Monday at Carmine’s Italian Restaurant in New York City after a hostess denied entry to three black women last week because they would not provide proof of vaccination. The women, tourists from Texas, allegedly attacked the hostess and were arrested on charges of assault and criminal mischief.

“Seventy-two percent of black people in this city from ages 18 to 44 are unvaccinated,” Newsome said during the protest at Carmine’s, according to The Washington Examiner. “So what is going to stop the Gestapo, I mean the NYPD, from rounding up black people, from snatching them off the train, off the bus?”

“We’re putting this city on notice that your mandate will not be another racist social distance practice. Black people are not going to stand by, or you will see another uprising. And that is not a threat. That is a promise,” she continued. “The vaccination passport is not a free passport to racism.”

Black Women’s March co-founder Kimberly Bernard added, “We are serving notice on the mayor, on the governor, on the restaurant industry that we will not allow for you to use this pandemic, vaccination cards, and masks as another reason to be racist, to put us in prison — because there’s enough of us in there.”

If vaccine passports are made mandatory for normal human rights (travel, work, shopping, etc), you can be certain that they’ll be applied equally to everyone.

(Some may be more equal than others, however).
