I don't think not wanting a shot that wasn't mandated when you joined, doesn't have a long track record good or bad, and is for something that is incredibly low risk to the military aged population, isn't exactly a mutiny. Especially when they are denying waivers contrary to the recommendation of multiple doctors. I have refused page 13s, I have told them I won't do an Article 15 and I'll see them at the CM.

But if you define it as such, I guess I am Acting-Lieutenant Christian.

You’ve never done the paperwork for an Article 15, have you? Let alone 10,000 of them? And of course, they do not HAVE to take the Article 15, in which case you either drop it (and you CAN’T drop it) or it goes to court martial. But if it goes to court martial, you are going to tie up the whole JAG establishment (who aren’t staffed for the workload) and since command influence isn’t allowed, it is very possible you’ll get some acquittals. Then what do you do?

And it does have to be done now. The military CANNOT AFFORD to issue orders they later back away from. But the time to have an answer to the above questions was before the order was issued.
Yup. The DoD is in a position where they have to choose between operational and admin pain and a manning shortfall in the near-term, or set a permanent precedent of accommodating individuality over Lawful General Orders.

Only one way that's going to go down.

DoD is lucky that we actually don't have any wars on right now (yes I know we always have SOF fingers in a few low-intensity pies, BTDT). They can push through a manning crisis right now.

The non-vaxxed members are lucky in that regard too... they can just get out with a likely honorable characterization. If we had a hot war or two going on then DoD REALLY could not afford to allow a precedent that opting out of the annual flu shot would get you out of a warzone.

Are all the branches in the same situation? How many?
No, the marines are the main holdouts, USN has the highest compliance rate.

the Marines are the main ACTIVE DUTY holdouts. This is going to devastate some Guard/Reserve formations.

Perfectly illustrating that this a culture war and has absolutely nothing to do with the science.

"You cannot challenge what we said today" - The Science

followed by

"You cannot hold us accountable for what we said yesterday because The Science changed".

(rinse, repeat, ad infinitum)

This really is a religion to you it seems. You are the deplorable, not the people you just denigrated.

Those who haven't received it by the deadline were told they would not be classed as Honorable and would receive a General discharge. USAFR fwiw.

May see an about face (no pun intended) on that. The Army just issued a memo about a week or so, essentially ending the careers of those who refused to be vaccinated, but would not kick them out under less than honorable conditions. So basically, you wouldn’t be able to reenlist for enlisted, nor be promoted.

All this BS for a bug with 99.99% survival.
Seriously.

And ever shifting "objectives" of desired outcomes.

Rick if we were in a hot war they'd take any and every able body.

Just rewind to 2005-8 timeframe in Iraq and Afghanistan. Felony? No prob. Come on in to the Army

CX best of luck, I'm certain you'll emerge on the upside of this mess.

I'm still unjabbed. Carrying my natural immunity proudly.
