Bummer our crews are still responsible to enforce mask compliance.

We are NOT the mask police!! We advise the pad of the rules, attempt to get them to comply without escalating the situation, AND THATS IT!! Enough already with the Napoleon syndrome!!

Hopefully the people revolt and in unison just throw their masks in the terminal trash cans and dare the airlines to try to enforce this any longer. No great change was ever initiated by those that follow the rules.

I dont think the mass public cares as much as we assume they do. Read a few polls which show the split on ending the mandate vs keeping it is about 2-1 for ending it hardly a rally cry from the masses. We hate it because its every day for our career, the average traveler its maybe a few times a year.

As long as everyone doesnt have to wear a mask once they step outside the airport, I dont think this weighs on their mind as much as we hope it does.

Its all ridiculous in the end. Its going to become the seatbelt sign at some point, a suggestion which most people follow but some won't.

But that’s the problem. Election day doesn’t matter, because these people are not elected.

Of course they're going to get destroyed, and rightfully so.

It's also the fact that the mask has LITERALLY been given up in all other facets of American life. So why have it on a plane, train, or bus? These same people are mingling in restaurants, concerts, schools, buildings, etc, without a mask. They just drop it already. But they won't. It's 100% about virtue signaling at this point. Saying we want 2 weeks (where have I heard that before?) to study the BA part 2 (or is it 3 now?) is a joke.

No different then the stupid Covid test requirement for US citizens just to get back into the United States. Well, you aren't requiring testing and vaccines within the country for the rest of the citizens, so they can go about infected and spreading it, so why are you testing and then holding US citizens out from entering the US? Both the federal mask mandate AND the international inbound Covid test requirement for Americans needs to end. Only then will you see a decent up tick in international leisure travel.

So why are they taking **** trying to enforce this? If the feds want this enforced they can buy tickets for federal officers to enforce it.

I've talked with a few FAs that are fed up with being the mask police and give zero fxxks about enforcement of the obsolete policy. They don't even bother engaging maskless passengers on long haul flights.

On a related note, I'm travelling with a group of ten fare paying business class passengers on another airline next weekend. As a paying customer (NOT a working or non-revving employee), I'll be in press to test mode from curbside all the way to the van in Florence. My wife will hate me for drawing attention, but I doubt I'll be the only maskless face in the crowd. We intentionally booked the trip WELL AFTER the March expiration of the mandate, so save the high and mighty "you knew the rules" BS. We knew the rules and planned around them!

Unbelievable. Okay…I’ll wear my little mask to work forever. What *******s.

Beech Dude 04-13-2022 02:51 PM

More and more are ignoring it. I was leaving San Diego earlier this week and more people were not wearing masks in the terminal than were wearing them. No one was pitching a fit and no one was being reprimanded. Once again a govt action that is just visible and not beneficial. It's not going away either.

You mean the geriatrics in DC or the numb nuts in management offices? Youre free to wear a mask on a plane as long as YOU want.
