I’d imagine not very much. The general public is fatigued from the fear mongering. Take a step outside and you’ll see the entire concept of masking and social distancing is over.

On a positive note, despite high infection rates, the new variant is not anymore severe than omicron original…. Per Reuters: https://www.reuters.com/business/hea...19-2022-07-13/

At this point I’d be more concerned with the layoffs starting at big companies increasing which reduces demand.

My family just got COVID for the first time (never cared about the fear mongering).
Not gonna lie, I was expecting a milder illness (“a bad cold,” “the sniffles” as people have said)
Yeah I’d describe it more like a mild flu meets the worst cold you’ve ever had. Body aches, cough, chills, headaches for two days, and then it’s just been constant coughing and headaches and sinus pressure. My wife actually got a fever after thinking she was better on day 5.

All that being said, we’ll live. But this does suck. FWIW got the vax in 2021 no booster. We’re *actually* healthy 30 yr olds. Our toddler got it, she has a cough but other than she’s happy go lucky

All this shows us that COVID-19 is mutating to be more infectious but less serious than it was originally.
Sort of like the other four human corona viruses we have known about since the 1970s that some years cause as much as 25% of the common colds we all get.

I got the Rona for the first time last week...was Pfizer boosted Nov'21.

I had moderate sinus congestion for a few days, one day of sinus pressure headache, and a few days of a shallow but productive cough. No fever, no chills, no fatigue, no loss of smell/taste, no issues breathing, no compromised saturated O2, nothing. I've had worse summer colds - never really felt "bad".

I did not test positive until 2 days after symptom onset, which I initially thought was summer pollen/grass allergy flaring up.

The entire point of COVID restrictions was the slow down the rate of infection to flatten the curve so overwhelmed hospitals could treat patients properly, and buy time to figure out the best treatments, learn how it spread, and get a vaccine. Mission accomplished. Anyone who cares about their health and the health of others has had the opportunity to get vaccinated and boosted. We have effective treatments. As long as the hospitals and ER's have capacity life will continue as normal. If we start running out of hospital beds then that is the sign that restrictions will return. People just don't have the patience to go through another cycle of restrictions.

It isn't about patience to go through the "game" again. We all know the restrictions don't work!
We were told to "follow the science" and "just two weeks"...but it's all for nothing.

A good number of believe that this virus was man made and continues to be manipulated to continue the spread.
Number of cases and deaths have been fudged for political and financial benefit. The populous has lost faith in the people in charge.

People can only be lied to so many times before they stop listening.
