AE Conversion Training Bidding

Just curious what the preferred method for schedule bidding is when scheduled for conversion training. For example, if scheduled for training on August 15th, is it better to bid a monthly schedule with days of in the beginning of the month/end of the month/reserve?

I've heard it discussed before just can't remember the gouge.

For reference, by 'preferred" I mean a scenario that maximizes pay and minimizes work days.

Thanks

The training will be on your line before you bid. Like vacation. Pay is tied to how much you work prior to training. Dont think there is much room to game system.

You can play a bit with your shadow period after training. You will be paid the greator of what you fly for OE or what was dropped for your shadow period. If you can hold a line, try to cram as much into the shadow period as you can

The John Bell website has a link to an excel spreadsheet that will calculate how many reserve days you would have to work and the resulting pay.

Depending on your category that can be the best way to go if reserves aren't being abused. You might get to roll a little thunder if the reserve list is short.
