They are. The question is how fast. Anyone connected(FTB, Sailing) have any intel? I've only heard rumors and they change weekly. One minute the 88s at about 15-20 per year, the next is 90s going first and the last is over 50 parked by year end 2018.

You're probably right that its current levels are cresting the peak and will likely only go down. Lots of it are based on YoY (QoQ, etc) percentage increases that are simply mathematically impossible. Even Einstein called compounded interest the eight wonder of the world. Double digit growth simply cannot continue for very long.

While I get everyone wants more of everything all the time, the daily credit of vaca is the thing that needs to increase first. If, once it gets to the standard of 5-ish hours a day, then and only then should we even consider additional weeks.

Keep your ear to the ground and look out for asinine attempts to sell scope (at the upper and lower levels) in exchange for real (or perceived) increases to PS.Its at least a strategy that's being kicked around, and one our side just may be dumb enough to entertain.

As for thin point to point, it will 90-95% be used like any current airframe. While it might test the waters on a tiny number of boutique routes, it won't be anything remotely close to a game changer.

So Ed B. doesn't like ME3 being subsidized with government $$ moving in on "his turf"... but he doesn't mind Bombardier being subsidized with government $$ so he can pick up aircraft below cost... wonder if the next new house he builds will be all glass with a stone front yard.. that would come in handy for him.

Zero chance of that happening.

Personally, I'm content with my compensation and want more predictable time off. Company wants productivity. I'd take the extra week or two in exchange for allowing those new weeks to be sold back... plenty of folks want the Benjamins.

Came upon this today. It's an expemtion the company has applied for asking for another year past 01Jan2020 to use up to 57 88s without ADS-B modifications.
It also has a chart of the projected retirement schedule for the 88 fleet.
