Happens every time you put an altimeter setting above 29.92 into the VNAV descent forecast page on an airplane with the newer thrust wake-up software

My favorite 737-ism is starting down in VNAV path. You program the winds, altimeter setting, ISA deviation from standard - basically you fine tune everything you possibly can. Surely it will smoothly nail every altitude.

You are looking good as you approach TOD and then .00000001 seconds later it says "DRAG REQUIRED."

Well if it knew drag would be required why didn't it just back up the TOD?

One of the great mysteries of life. Kind of like when you program 310 for descent but it shows as 309.

My favorite part of a managed descent on the 320 is sitting with my legs crossed, monitoring.

Savage. You're not wrong. When debating leaving 717 for 73N, the comparisons have been entertaining.

VSD on the 220 rocks
A350 has this too.

The 73 does VNAV well 80% of the time. To avoid the zipper, program .78/320 in the descent page.

Also you don't need to open the window in turbulence. Just set .80 as the max cruise and max descent speed in perf init page 2.
So you have to amend in the FMS to get it to not overspeed. That's as much an intervention as speedbrakes or opening the window to slow or starting down early. I have yet to meet an FMS that does everything correct all the time. The key is to know the flaws and actively manage them. The number of flaws and the severity do vary though. The 757 will try to keep you at cruise altitude while reducing power for an idle decent.

I go to PERF INIT 2/2 at the gate. 320/.80 for climb, cruise and descent.
Since I've been doing this I've never had to worry about overspeed -- except turbulence at cruise.

Technique only.

Does the 350 has the radar on that profile view too?

There's a couple of things flowing down from the 350 to the 320, TCAS on AP, but the one I really want is that ND and brake to vacate. Although I think we are getting ROP, does the 350 have that?

When does the 350 get the touch screens? And yes I know every glass jet is a touch screen, i mean where it does something when you touch it.

On the 320 I wish I could toggle path over speed and speed over path in managed descent depending on how I want to float my boat. Just make that an FMS selection.

Yes and yes...although the 350 has ROW/ROP, not just ROP.
