The rumor everyone in MSP is talking about...
Seriously though, it seems like basically all of the intercontinental flying from MSP will soon be on the 330 (perhaps even Haneda and/or Incheon, depending on what happens with the whole HND slot thing), which would mean about 5-6 flights per day. Certainly seems like enough to have a base considering SEA has about that.
MSP is safe as a base for a long time...as mentioned above, this place is an economic powerhouse. DTW would go away before MSP did...

Well, I'm not implying that DTW *is* going to close (I don't think either base will close anytime soon), just that, in the future, it's more likely to close than MSP. Looking at the direction that both cities are moving in (MSP metro gaining population, DTW losing; MSP metro has a median income almost $18,000 higher than DTW metro; Fortune 500 and other companies headquartered or with a large presence in MSP are growing (ok, besides Best Buy), we all know how shaky the auto industry is in DTW; DTW's poverty rate is about 3X MSP's...the stats go on), I would say that MSP is a much more attractive market to Delta for O&D right now and moving forward, and we all know how important O&D is to having a hub somewhere (and particularly how important high-value O&D is to Delta). Obviously DTW's metro is still larger than MSP's, but at the current rate, MSP could be larger within 50 years (of course, things change, and DTW has had some ups and downs), and will likely be much wealthier unless DTW can make a lot of progress reinventing itself. That's really all I'm saying...

I'd be thinking about dumping the wife. Get it out of the way before you start making real money. Your second wife probably hasn't been born yet. You choose: Old and cold or young, sun and fun...
Just kidding. I've been married 27 years. Keeping her happy best decision I've ever made for many reasons.

Given the majority are still based in MSP & DTW I think you'll find these bases will have massive movement over the next ten years. Might be a great possibility for LCA positions to.
