Default Future of MSP

MSP is the only base my wife is willing to move to. Other than taking a hit in senioity, any concerns on Delta's future there?

I would suspect that it will probably be around but it's definitely heading in the only a narrow body base similar to CVG. They have already said that the 7ER flying will be covered mostly by the 737 and 321. The limited international there already is primarily flown from other bases. If you're ok with that and very slow movement then have at it.

Minnesota has 19 Fortune 500 companies.

It's never going away.

Very senior. Nice trips.

Maybe a 330 base.

Not commuting makes life much better and heathier.

When the A330-900's start arriving they are planning on a 330 base in MSP.

The rumor everyone in MSP is talking about...

Seriously though, it seems like basically all of the intercontinental flying from MSP will soon be on the 330 (perhaps even Haneda and/or Incheon, depending on what happens with the whole HND slot thing), which would mean about 5-6 flights per day. Certainly seems like enough to have a base considering SEA has about that.

MSP is safe as a base for a long time...as mentioned above, this place is an economic powerhouse. DTW would go away before MSP did...

CVG is a skeleton of a base, I don't think MSP is headed for that. As for slow movement, I've already moved up 5 numbers in category in a month, and I'll have another 5 under me next month, and another 20ish by the time the AE is done. It's not NYC MD88, but there *is* movement.

That's only on the 88. I love MSP, born and raised but there's better opportunities throughout the system.

MSP is senior right now, but how many of those pilots retire in the next 5-10 years? Could be a setup for rapid movement in the future.

It'd be cool if there was a way to filter retirements by base.
