I would suspect that it will probably be around but it's definitely heading in the only a narrow body base similar to CVG. They have already said that the 7ER flying will be covered mostly by the 737 and 321. The limited international there already is primarily flown from other bases. If you're ok with that and very slow movement then have at it.

Seriously though, it seems like basically all of the intercontinental flying from MSP will soon be on the 330 (perhaps even Haneda and/or Incheon, depending on what happens with the whole HND slot thing), which would mean about 5-6 flights per day. Certainly seems like enough to have a base considering SEA has about that.
MSP is safe as a base for a long time...as mentioned above, this place is an economic powerhouse. DTW would go away before MSP did...

CVG is a skeleton of a base, I don't think MSP is headed for that. As for slow movement, I've already moved up 5 numbers in category in a month, and I'll have another 5 under me next month, and another 20ish by the time the AE is done. It's not NYC MD88, but there *is* movement.
