Assuming the 1st class passenger was telling the truth, I have to agree with him. 1st/business class tickets are expensive, if you spend the money for the upgrade then you should get the seat. I'll also guess that this person probably flies often, and likely in 1st class. Angering our high value customers is bad business, as is calling him trash on a public pilot forum. I don't agree with the way he handled the situation, but I can empathize with his frustration.

I don't see how the airline will look bad on this one. All he did was embarrass himself.

They updated the "news". Apparently he was late for his first flight and was stnd by. The only available seat was Comfort +.

now imagine how the 5 high value customers would feel having to sit around/next to this jackass for the next 5 hours?

leave problems at the gate. they don't get any better enroute. and its simply outrageously unfair to the pax around them, who thankfully put up with the ordeal of air travel, that will be brutalized by his continued drama.

not to mention a divert caused by clowns like this once he gets half a dozen covissiers down.

He has mastered the use of a four letter word. I'm guessing Juilliard graduate.

What? Did you watch the same video that I watched? Aviation is challenging and sometimes you encounter difficult situations or unfair outcomes. Probably happened to me dozens of times.

There is never an excuse for his behavior, even if he did everything right and Delta did everything wrong.

You trying to excuse it, is troubling.

Delta should reimburse him and then make sure he never steps on a Delta aircraft again.
