ATL Hotels

Looked through the threads and couldn't find an answer. Does anyone have recommendations for airport hotels with regard to discount, quality and safety? Thanks

Depends on what the use is:

Sitting shortcall reserve? CountryInn South, pretty clean, very flexible for aircrew $57 out the door. Restaurant attached, convenience store across the street.

Attending training: Depends on budget, but residence inn or others around Virginia ave give free rides to training center.

Interview: Hilton is across the street on Virginia ave and others along virginia ave will give a ride to the gate where you check in for interview.

You can often priceline a decent hotel near ATL for a good price if it's just a one-off occasion like checkin for an early show.

The Marriott and Springhill suites are great for that as you don't have to ride a shuttle, you just take the rental car train and get off on the first stop and your at the front door.

Country Inn South has good crew rate and restaurant attached and free shuttle.

Easy online booking, cheap, clean, free breakfast w/ shuttle. Haven't tried the restaurant. $46 rate ($58.36 after taxes).

The 3 Marriott properties at the gateway center (first stop on the train on the way to the rental car facility) - and they have a delta rate - if searching on the web or with the app, apply code “DLA”, usually $99 - $139, sometimes lower. And the Renaissance is brand new and super nice. Treat Yo Self!

Thanks, it's a start.

I stayed at 5 different hotels during training and the sweet spot with regards to cost, convenience, and cleanliness was the LaQuinta.

I used the Hotels.com 10% discount found on Deltanet:

HR > Benefits > Perks & Discounts > Green button "Start Saving Now" > Travel > Hotels

I think you mean Quality Inn South* on Old National Highway. Just watch out for weekends when the Cozumel restaurant next door turns into a night club at night. It is LOUD and cars in the parking lot will be playing loud music and doing burnouts.

The hotels in the southside of the airport are not very good but can't complain too much for the price.

Yup that's it. The restaurant can be a nightclub but if your on the backside it's not bad. I wouldn't wander to much after dark but I'm sure the same goes for any airport hotel.

I wouldn't wander too much before dark either.

I remember when a United pilot was stabbed while walking back from his training in Denver

PSA regarding the Quality Inn & Suites on the south side.

Personally witnessed a shootout this past April about 30 yards behind the hotel through my window. Was in the front parking lot of the hotel behind. Roughly 20 shots fired. Guy ended up getting killed on the scene.

Keep that in mind when a couple of cold beers from the corner gas station sound tasty.

Quality Inn South is $48.70 out the door. Price went up in the last couple of years due to a Georgia tax increase.

One time a mugger noticed that we were new-hires, and slipped us a couple of bucks for vending machine food. :p

This is actually totally wrong. The Country Inn and Suites South is $61.84 out the door. Don’t want people to be misled!

Is there a code to enter? The prior link is just leading to a generic webpage with a quote before taxes of $72.25

EDIT: The link above will take you to the Radisson main page. Updated link: www.countryinn.com/airlinecrew

Notice the absence of the "s" at the end. $61.84 is confirmed.

Lots can happen in almost 2 years, which is when that price you quoted was valid so he wasn’t misleading anyone at the time. Even the Quality Inn South has gone up in price since the guy upthread posted it.
