Japanese Visas

I'm thinking of non-revving to Japan with the family over Christmas vacation. The entry-exit requirements for US citizens say "You must have a valid passport and an onward/return ticket for tourist/business "visa free" stays of up to 90 days."

For those of you who have non-revved to Japan, what do you use for a "return ticket?"

Delta ID should suffice.

Just got back from a week long Tokyo trip with the family. We all non-revved and they did not even ask about the return ticket. You could probably show them a travelnet listing and that would suffice if the question came up. Have a great trip!

Non-revved to Japan recently. Just needed the Name, address and contact info of the person I was staying with and how long I intended to stay. They didn’t bother asking for anything more than that.

A return non-rev travel reservation will likely suffice as others have mentioned.

We have gone to HND/NRT non-rev several times the last couple years and never have been asked about travel arrangements.

Thanks, gang. I'll bring a printout of our Navy Lodge reservation and Travelnet itinerary, just to be on the safe side. I appreciate your sharing the gouge.

Navy Lodge is for the PCS crowd, if your just visiting get your family into the New Sanno hotel and enjoy yourself (lots of last min cancellations generally).

Don't let a good jet lag go to waste, get up at the crack of dawn and go down to the Tsukiji Fish market and watch the worlds biggest market selling everything from $15,000 tuna to creatures you didn't even know existed!

I checked the New Sanno website. Unfortunately, it isn't open to Reservists unless we're on active duty orders to Japan. It's open to retired Reservists, but not to those of us who are still on the hook to drop our stuff and bug out at a moment's notice. I look forward to staying there after I retire - I want to see that fish market!

I'm not complaining. I'm pretty sure I can make it from the Atsugi Navy Lodge to Shinjuku with my eyes closed.

I non-rev to Japan quite a bit and have never been asked about outbound plans. Sometimes I stay just one night to break up the travel plan and have never been asked.

I don't think Americans are generally a risk of overstaying a tourist visa.
