what is the upgrade time to CA in SLC?

Bidding at 100% on all available airframes for someone hired today?

If you started about ten years ago, it would be about 10 years. If you started today? Probably less than that. Who knows? Stuff changes bid to bid. It’ll be about 5 years for a new hire to have the same relative seniority as the junior captain in SLC right now. The base will almost certainly look different by then.

I agree with Bluto.

When the base was downsized from 1700 pilots to 500 and flying was given to SkyWest the upgrade was at 18-20 years.
In 2010-2012 - probably around 15.
Now, last AE - most junior CA award was hired in Mar, 2008 (737)

On the projected cat list (1 may 2018):
Most junior ER CA - hired in Jan, 1992
320 - Apr, 2007

When I left the SLC base in 99 we had about 600 pilots. We peaked about 94 with around 700. When did it get to 1700?

Just heard from SLC guys in the sim over the years. Back in the days of "three-holers covering 80% of current SKY route map out of SLC".

Sounds reasonable....my right seat 727 OE went through MSO, BZN and FCA. Great flying and fun layovers, especially after a few Moose Drools.

Curious what LAX looks like in this case? Understanding that things will most likely look drastically different 5 years from now....

LAX 717A is around 3 years right - flew with a 2014 hire the other week.
