Sea-hkg?

Sea-hkg?
For years I've been Diamond status with you guys, and have appreciated the great service shown to not only me but my family. The JV/Asia-reduction meant the loss of the extremely convenient SEA-HKG leg you ran for years...
Anyone know of any plans to bring that back? Was removing that flight permanent? AA does a good job for us with daily flights to LAX and DFW, but over a decade of Delta Diamond status got us spoiled. From a customer's perspective, I'll put your D-1 over Cathay, KAL, or any of the other domestic carriers we fly. I'm was hoping with the 350 it might be coming back....

We stopped doing it in October and as of now it isn’t on the table for coming back. Never say never but you’ll need to fly on us to Seoul and connect on Korean to get there on a Delta ticket. I hope HKG comes back eventually but for now it doesn’t seem to be anytime soon.

It’s a shame we don’t do that route anymore. One of my absolute favorite layovers and one of the great cities of the world. AA and UAL do it multiple times a day yet somehow we can’t make it work. I know it’s not a guarantee of profit, but we always seemed to have good loads and a bunch of cargo on it. Also the route obviously has value because within a few days of us announcing we were ditching the route, Cathay announced they would pick it up..... Of course since we’d no longer have a monopoly on that route, Cathay’s entry only makes it less likely it’ll come back.

I'm shocked that flight is gone...I'll bet the airplane was full every single time. Makes no sense.
I also appreciate and will do anything for the diamond status. You guys treat me and my family so well. Nobody else is even close.

Flew it till the end, and it was full. Ground staff let go, sounds like we pulled out for the duration. Stop in ICN and get some kimchi to go. Delta's new slogan.

Sea-hkg will not be back. We tried from dtw, nrt, and just couldnt make it stick. Though nwa/dal used to fly all over to hkg for years prior merger. Very soon the only asian markets we have will be: icn, pvg, pek.

Out of curiosity, I checked itineraries one way from DTW to HKG on August 4th. Connecting to China Eastern is the only way. What seemed odd, though, was that main cabin prices out over $2,100...but Premium Select is $1,443. I wonder if they get a lot of people splurging to sit in steerage?

Now with Delta One and the suites, we might be able to compete if we tried, but LAX and SEA have too much competition. So I suspect we've defaulted to the ICN connection and make what we can there.
