Some possible reasons they only did the numbers they did:
1: simply not enough bidders
2: not enough CAs or FOs to make 30 crews
3: the bidders didn't come FROM the bases they desired

#3 could be either leaving an existing base short-staffed OR the bidders were already commuters and this increased the the DH/hotel cost; the company knows our residence address so they could've checked if the bidders are already commuters. (paranoid big brother speak)

In any case, the LOA says that the company can post and fill (or not fill) any size VB.

Heard VB’s were voted down 15-4 by the MEC.

1 & 2 are far more likely. The seniority of the awards went deep. There were only 14 7ER FOs junior to the bottom (27th) FO award.

They should, doesn't mean we should oblige. Gotta decide, are you a pilot or a management wannabe? VB is not a win, win. It's a win, and something else for us. I'd like to fly xyz to MCO, and get DH home positive space. And get paid. It's a concession in a multi billion dollar stock buy back environment. I got your straw right here. No double entendre moderator.

Again, I never said I was for or against a VB, so save calling me a management wannabe for someone who cares.

You presented it as “oh, they’re profitable and now they need this,” which is a foolish way to think about business.

Meh. I really didn't care all that much. The real shame here is that you have 'decades' to go and you choose to be a dick so early in your career.
