Had a senior 777 Captain on the JS about a month ago and he had a few comments.
-training is not good, lots of busts and manuals/instructors are not up to standards(through no fault of the instructors
-bunk room is in a bad place and impacts F/A work area.
-Jet won't make LA Sydney
-F/A's don't like it.
Finally I believe he said we got these jets cheap because someone backed out last minute. Didn't we originally order 25 with more options? I think he said we're only getting 13 and there maybe doubts about further orders. As say Boeing but have heard a rumor about the A330-900. Thoughts???

No clue on 2
Yes on 3 if the weather if iffy, but we have 777LRs that will be around for years that are made for that job.
on 4, FAs dont like anything.
We are getting at least 15 by the end of next year with no change to the last 10 being delivered as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the last 10 are changed to 333NEOs, but there has been no movement in that direction.

741, I’m not sure why your posts suddenly contain so much animus sprinkled among your usual insight. I guess my only question is why the short Asian flight attendants can’t close the bins but the short Irish or short Italian flight attendants don’t seem to have any reported troubles...?
Also, the airline business is inherently “ungreen”, but I don’t think Delta or any other airline is worthy of reproach for highlighting when they do what they can to be as green as they can be. It’s not as if they are claiming that they are 100% carbon-neutral or are a zero-waste company. I don’t see an issue with them touting their green initiatives while still flying empty planes for training. Just my opinion.

I see your point on the green stuff. I guess I still try to believe the company isn’t a heartless shareholder wealth generator, but that’s what it is. I’ll have to settle for hoping that they stop at telling half-truths instead of outright lies like the Euro car companies and their diesel engines...
