Good to know, thanks!

Thanks for the quick answers, guys. Certainly a lot to think about. And thanks Viking for the tip. I'll put 777A top 1% first. That's one bid I'm not in danger of ever getting awarded.

Sort of....

Per 22.D.8.d, the "Cnv Aft Jr" only applies to the type of award you are bidding on. If you check it on the AE page and you are awarded an AE, you will be converted after junior AE awardees but not necessarily after VD awardees. Clear as mud?

I’ve never understood why more senior pilots don’t utilize this technique.

Commuters being awarded a different/easier base to commute to....
Guys excited for a higher paying category ASAP....
Vacation coming up and you want it at a new higher base pay....
Just remember there are 14,600 of us and we are all different with different priorities.

Give it a couple more bids and the 320 will be more senior in ATL as well.

I would have disagreed until I looked at the Count Pilots Holding A Preference guesstimate on iCrew. I'm 94xx'ish, and there are 2-3 times as many pilots with bids in for the 320 vs the 73 senior to me. Both in NYC and ATL.

I'm hoping to hang on to 88A, but this may make a difference in my next move.

If you're 9400ish there's no way you get displaced on this bid. My guess is there will be enough VDs to make the cut line somewhere around 11k. Right now assuming no VDs and no external input from MSP (which is unlikely since certainly a few of those guys will show up in ATL) the 125th guy MD'd off ATL 88a is a fall of '14 hire, high 10,600's.

I think you're missing some of the last 50 displacements that haven't moved. I'm almost exactly that number and I think I'm 105-109 off the bottom for this displacement. I hope you're right though....not that I'll enjoy going back to reserve.

You can do that, but you can’t make it your first choice. You need to have something in front of it. You could always put 777A as your first choice with a qualifier of top 1 %.

pretty sure you can make it your #1, i have for the last 3-4 AEs to keep my put if i kept my seniority abut to move me if it dropped below a certain threshold.
