Hotel in MSY

I haven't been to New Orleans in quite a few years. I have a friend who wants to take her daughter, who's turning 21, to MSY. I need to give her a couple of safe hotels near the French Quarter/Bourbon St. to possibly stay. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

The Monteleone with the rooftop pool and the merry-go-round bar comes to mind.

This historic B&B was restored by a Delta pilot; about halfway between the Quarter and City Park. Unfortunately, caution is required anywhere in MSY, especially at night. :(

Wife and I have stayed at Loft 523 a couple times. Great location near everything but far enough off Canal to be quiet.

The Roosevelt (Waldorf Astoria/Hilton property) is at Canal/Bourbon and is fantastic. Google photos. I’ve seen rates as low as $120/night.

The Hilton Riverside is a great location and safe. Right in between the French Quarter and CBD.

Nowhere in NOLA is safe. And what is your friend thinking, taking his daughter there?!!? :(

I think there is a higher end Ramada at Bourbon and Canal street.

This isn't 2005. NOLA is no less safe than any other city in the US. Or is it just because there are a lot of black people there that you feel uncomfortable?
