Scheduling committee resigns
Anything more than the letter just sent out by the C44 captains? The C44 captains have lost all credibility with me but the attached letter and subsequent resignations of most of the scheduling committee is disturbing. I'm blissfully unaware of how many people are on that committee and am using the captains' update as a source that "nearly all" of the scheduling committee has resigned in protest of Captain Kessler's firing.

Capt reps have not impressed me much either, this is maybe the second or third item they have put out I'm in favor of. I was not impressed with Bartells rep when he came in, here's another reason he should be voted out.

We are not being served while petty politics are going on. Our scheduling committee is extremely important to the pilot group. I personally e-mail them every single time I am rerouted usually to find out I am due extra pay that I didn't know I was due. I have never had any issues with our committee. I don't know what's going on or why the chair was voted out, but I know our every day line pilots are going to get hurt by this move. Obviously the entire committee disagrees with the firing or they wouldn't have resigned.

One of my reps explained why he voted to remove. The other hasn't responded.
I thought his reasoning was weak.
I think the Chairman's firing will have a chilling effect on volunteers.
Kessler handled both of my scheduling inquires quickly and correctly. He also reached out to me after I got my first ARCOS notification.
But hey, it's Summer! There's no way there will be any issues that an entire committee of new members can't handle.

With Scheduling, PBS and RCC gutted which way do you think your QOL is trending?
Word is Contract Admin and the MEC Treasurer are not far behind. Nobody can work with these reps nor the admin (Bartels, Schnitzler and Brielman)
ATL, DTW and SLC pilots need to wake up and put some grownups on the MEC this fall.

Comm just left this week - Kelly Regus.
R&I a couple months ago - Karen Browne-Fleck
Scheduling is rumored to be on the brink as well - multiple ex Delta schedulers that have worked on the ALPA side for years
Bartels, Schnitzler, Brielman and your MEC are forcing this brain drain. Just losing Karen & the Scheduling SMEs will result in years lost (read value in your pocket) to replace that institutional knowledge.

Delta pilots, don't fall for this logic. Name me a bigger pilot advocate than Ryan S. Delta pilots had never voted down a contract in 80 years. Times are a'changin.
-Airbus pilots flying Delta flights
-A350 instructors' currency issues = PWA violation
-No keyboard for iPad per PWA

However, to be effective a pilot advocate must maintain a modicum of credibility. While Schnitzler gnashes his teeth about plastic cutlery in your crew meals, zero serious engagement is taking place on the AeroMexico JV.
He supports placing Mgmt pilots on Executive Inactive to send a message. He supported unilaterally canceling the MCO VB test to send a message.
Then he cries victim when that message is received and the company slow rolls his phone calls and meeting requests.
Call it tough, or pilot advocacy, if you want. I call it a lack of focus and priorities.
There’s only so much bandwidth, and the Bartels/Schnitzler team has allowed the association to bog down to the point of ineffectiveness.
When the non-political, working committees & employees start bailing that should be a master Warning for the pilot group. Something is rotten.

You think he’s bad? Wait until Schnitzler takes over in the fall. The company won’t even take his meeting requests. How’s that going to go for C2019?
Unless we all speak up...
You know what else is cool? PBS and RCC committees just walked too, led by the chairmen of both. Zaret and Dixon are LONG time, apolitical servants of the pilot group...and they can’t stomach what they’re seeing anymore.

And RCC? The one that the company never listens to? Who cares?
The ones that matter that quit were Scheduling vice and the PBS guys...the rest who cares...we have 15k pilots, someone will replace them.
As a SLC pilot, i support my SLC CA rep 100%
