Sounds like that is what he is saying... Don’t think it works that way.

That is what I was saying, thought about it, and realized I wasn’t understanding the question, and edited my post. Sorry. I just woke up.

I’m going to give myself a 60 minute blackout period in the mornings before I’m allowed to respond on APC.

I doubt the 75 displaced m88s will all come from recently-hireds. Plenty of folks above them want out for various reasons, so I suspect there will be VDs aplenty. The crappy trip mix on the 88 seems to be making for some disgruntled Maddog pilots.

It doesn't work this way to my knowledge, but displaced pilots CAN backfill slots created in categories for which no vacancies were announced, BEFORE pilots senior to them have a shot at those slots. Just happened with the 350 displacements.

Isn't that what a displacement is all about, not just backfill, but actually push others out of a category if your senior to them? That's why the cascade potential is so high, obviously the company can add them to a category and not further displace if they choose to mitigate that outcome, but in the end it's the companies discretion.

Damn the company for following the contract!

Which leads a cynical observer to believe it it by design, so the company can avoid the expense of MDs by pushing senior pilots into VDs and AEs.
