I like the area of Puerto Madero...The Hotel Madero and the Hilton are good choices and walking distance to most of places to eat and shop in the Puerto Area. That's the new area of the city and where young people usually lives.
Palermo is also a nice neighborhood, more traditional.
I recommended walking around recoleta, calle Florida (Be aware of scams)
Go to Galeria Pacifico, the japonese garden,
The museu nacional, plaxa de mayo and casa rosada are also nice.
I don't like the tango shows...for me they are more of he tourist trap kind of deal.
Taxis are cheap but they might try to take advantage of you if you look gringo.
Learn some words of spanish that wll go a long way.
Enjoy argentina and feel free to PM me if you have any question
Edit: forgot to add...some people like el caminito and the boca juniors stadium. It's nice but if you go there don't wander around the area or go outside the tourist areas unless you are somewhat a tough guy and speak spanish.

I've done 1/2 day long bicycle tours twice in EZE and always very interesting. There is one that does the North side of the city, and one that does the south side. Both were interesting and different, well worth the time, if you don't mind cycling.

I’ve known a few people to do a trip to the Iguazu falls. They said it was breathtaking. You would land and use a ZED fare to go up. Spend the rest of the day and come back to EZE in the afternoon the next day.
