APD Question
I submitted an APD request and it was denied for capped reserve days. I am trying to understand what power the APD has over just a personal drop if they both can be denied for capped reserve days. Any insight?

An APD only needs reserves available to be 25% of required to be granted (unless it touches certain holiday blackout dates, then it’s still subject to denial). PD’s require all days to be above required.

None of the days can touch 2 days before a holiday to one day after. For example, can't drop a trip with any days working Dec 23-26 or Dec 30- Jan 02 unless all days have blue reserve days (highly unlikely).

Not exactly, it’s at discretion of the company during those times. I had one in for quite a while leading up to thanksgiving a couple years ago and alas about 4-5 days prior even with black coverage they let me drop. The wording in the pwa I believe is: “may” during those days, not “can’t”

I used an APD to drop a trip Dec 22-25th this year. I didn’t think it would work but it did, granted the reserve coverage was very good

Also, if you’re trying to drop something after the 26th, the wait until the Next month (Jan in this case) are published in Icrew before they run those. I had an APD in for a trip over Christmas years ago and it sat and sat, but then when the Jan schedules were released, it went through. Just be patient, you might get lucky.
