Good. Sick of calling all those previous bids MOAB. 50 777As. Call this what it is... The March Madness Bid.

Default Seat lock

Where in the PWA does is specifically discuss the seat lock vs. bidding an AE. Even though it is an April conversion window, say my seat lock ends after that (call it Mid May)... does that automatically disqualify me for this AE or is there a provision as long as the first class offered is after your seat lock, you can still bid? Thanks!

You cannot bid if your seatlock expires after the 1st coversion month.

Don’t have access to the PWA right now: search for “Freeze”. Think you’ll see verbiage there indicating that the beginning of the conversion window is “it” regardless of class dates.

Even with the displacement craziness I think there will be a ton of upward movement. With the positions being added to the 73N official I revise my ATL Bracket buster from ATL320A to ATL73NA. I think junior award on the ATL73NA will be in the 10000 range. 2010 or 2014 hire. I think ATL717A drops to 2015 hire.

ALPA did drop a nice glimpse of the future growth of ATL 717 flying in an email this morning:

"The Company expects the 717 to begin a consolidation to ATL over the next few years, which is why most of the positions on this AE will be allocated to ATL. It is anticipated that 575 captain and 570 first officer positions will be needed to operate the 717 fleet for the summer of 2020."

Like sailing just mentioned, the NYC category is the one that’s awards are dependent on DTW pilots bidding off. Seniority number 1000 is senior enough to hold, therefore, he/she will get it.

To your question though, let’s assume he wants NYC. I think this is why it takes so long to post a large AE award like this one. They run it once and then say, for example, wow! 60 guys left the A330 A in DTW, so now they tweek the C64’s parameters so that not only are they awarding all the NYC positions, but also backfilling some of the DTW positions.

In fact, to go even further, you will not be eligible if your seatlock expires so much as a day after the earliest conversion date. Ask me how I know. Of course, they can always make exceptions.

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered, but the AE Memo in the verbiage states 15 ATL 777B Position Vacancies will be posted, but the chart below does not have those 15 position vacancies.

Which one is right? Also, in the video on Skyhub he said there would be 15 ATL 777B vacancies.

You might be right. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

You can always bid. It’s up to the company’s discretion if they release you as you are still in a seat lock with the first conversion happening in April.
