FZRA, Moderate type.

Chance of sleet in ATL or NYC and we get five critical Ops updates and positive space commutes. DTW airport completely closes for 8 hours and not a peep. Classic

You mean, if there is just a chance of a slight dusting of snow in ATL...

Standard.

Of course I post that and within 5 minutes we get one. Still, doesn't do us much good now.

What are you alleging, if anything? Intentional neglect because it's an airport that should be accustomed to winter weather or something else???

Being accustomed has nothing to do with getting timely info out. He's not wrong in that we've recently received plenty of updates prior to/during lessor events for ATL and NYC. Yet on this one, we're 12+ hours into the event before we got an update. Lots of squadron mates out in it last night who seemed to be getting little information.

Plus it's just good natured ribbing between bases, which is always fun.

Maybe it took so long because, unlike nor'easters, this ice event seemed to catch everyone with their pants down.

His “allegations” have merit. Last week we got updates 24-36 hours in advance of an impending storm in NYC which barely impacted operations.

This winter storm shut Detroit down last night at 8PM. Today I had an E-mail at 9:53 AM EST from Delta with critical ops update #1. 12 hours and 53 minutes after the airport closed. Now many many flights cancelled and they are not offering +space as of yet to crew members who will be commuting the next couple of days.

All fake news though. Delta probably sent critical ops update #1 right when DTW closed last night and Gmail waited until today to deliver it. Sometimes they forget to deliver emails. 🙄
