LAX 717 Displacement

LAX 717 Displacement
For all the LAX 717 folks getting forced out, is there any reason to bid the next category we want as an AE or VD? We will all be granted whatever we put in the Mandatory Displacement and therefore be free of the seat lock?
Thanks from a new-ish guy!

Also, just so you understand, you can only go where your seniority can take you, not whatever you want. There has to be someone junior to you in the category you want to MD into.

There is zero reason. Both your AE bid and VD bid should be blank unless you are the charitable type and want a freeze, no paid move and other benefits.

There is an obvious swap of 717 pilots to the A320 in LAX going on. In the company’s world, it would be ideal if all 717 pilots bid the A320. But in the real world that probably won’t happen.
So here is a hypothetical, since LAX is currently an all Boeing base, let’s say that the top 50 717As don’t ever want to fly an Airbus and decide to MD bid LAX 737A. Could they theoretically bid MD’s to the 737 in LAX and displace 50 current LAX 737 captains? Those 737As would probably become A320A but still, should junior LAX 737As be prepared for displacment?

More like, "if you are junior in ANY category, anywhere" you have a possibility of being displaced. Almost all pilots should have a MD preference inputted, "just in case."
