Bringing family on a MBJ overnight

Hello all, I have a 24 hour layover in Montego bay next week and was think about bringing the family. I have heard of people bringing family with on overnight but I have not done it yet. Should I call the resort and verify it is ok since I am staying on Delta's dollar? Is there other etiquette I should know of?

Thanks

Look at the layover guide in the content locker. I took my wife there once. No big deal.

Since it’s all inclusive, MBJ resort will charge you extra for an additional person. How much depends on the time of year. I think they quoted me $275, last time I was there in 2018 and thinking abt brining my wife for a future visit. Definitly call the resort first.

Thank you. I called earlier today and right now it is 120 for adults and 60 per child.

They will charge you double that because even though your layover is only 24 hours, it is two nights thus $240. Add the outrageous Jamaica taxes and entry/exit fees $173 plus cab fare to and from the airport $80 and you are spending almost $500 per person to the very substandard RUI resort. No thanks.

I would not bring my wife and daughters there. Some of these perps have been employees of a gated resort (lifeguard, mx etc.) I’ve stayed there and I think our hotel is a dump anyway. Just my 2 cents.

I just came back from there. We can do better. I would much rather buy drinks and food and stay at a nice resort.

Just got back from Punta Cana. Not sure why people like all inclusive. The food is god awful. The all-included drinks are even worse. Everything that I drink at home was not included and sold at an all-inclusive resort. Basic drinks like gatorade, Corona, Johnny Walker Black, Captain Morgan, etc. The only drinks included were the no-name booze, draft Presidente, and the sodas from the soda gun.
