Well... I guess we’ll see in the 12+ months or so during Section 6. The company likes to create “issues” for us just before contract time that we then have to trade/negotiate for. Perhaps we’ve just done the same

40 is greater than 0 no?
Is 25?
How much are the KLOA’s paying?
What did the mec get in return for showing they had the big stick in this instance? Same thing with VB’s. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have eventually killed one or both, but why not try to extract some permanent mid-contract value in exchange for a month or two of VBs and/or SILs?
All bravado and no brain. We really showed ‘em.

You act like there's no upside. With greater staffing reserves will fly less, that's a good thing. It incentivizes senior pilots to bid RES which lets more junior pilots bid a line if they desire. Even junior pilots in my category aren't coming anywhere near filling up. While I won't say that sitting an unused SC or LC isn't working, it's certainly not the same as flying a trip. I'm not on a SIL, but I'm getting a full 72 hours of pay for significantly less than 72 hours of block. This wouldn't be the case if 6-9 dudes in my category were out on SILs.

In that same spirit, then, we should all push for ending the ALV+15 loopholes with swap with pot and pilot swap board. Raise all the boats and all.

Also that means less reserve flying. Staffing is based on block hours. No SILs means more aggregate pay and less flying per reserve.
My real problem was with the company’s interpretation that the scheduling committee chairman’s support is implied thereby reducing the union’s explicit power to deny them if they pay to little. That’s reason enough to **** it down. We were on a path to relinquish power by inaction.

I support this, even though as a RES it might mean an extra trip every month or two. I won't be RES my entire life and I believe this proposal is an overall positive for the pilot group. It's not an issue I feel strongly about, but I think the benefits of eliminating the loop hole slightly outweigh the negatives.

Nope, its the same thing. In for a penny, in for a pound. Just one example of this is eliminating the swap loopholes to increase the staffing on the 777. More higher paying jobs for the group vs higher pay for the individual. You can't have it both ways and claim you value the group over the individual.

Man, we're on a roll. Why stop there. Let's reduce the ALV to 60 hrs and none up this pick up to ALV + 15 crap. Just think of how many CAPT positions we could create!! Rising tide and all. Think of the growth in pilot hiring......why, they won't be able to man the air line..... just think of the power we will yield going into negotiations.
You guys crack me up.....Did ALPA and MGT explain that we are a seniority based system....not a socialist based system.....been watching the MSNBC and the 20 Dem hopefuls much?
