Dropping whole month

So just to be clear, your point is swaps above ALV+15 benefit you, so we should do them, but SILs don't so it's good we killed them?
Many of us, myself included, value the QOL provided by having no obligation to the company in exchange for 40 hours of pay. I'm also in favor of keeping the trip swaps as they are. I would swap over 100, followed by a 40 hour SIL if the option were available. I'm just not going to argue it is in the best interest of everyone in a veiled attempt to claim the moral high ground. They were provisions in the contract, period. You can't claim "rising tide..., better for everyone..., etc if you are in favor of swaps and against SILS.

From the Scheduling Reference Handbook:
White Slip
Same-day rotation --->Proffer
Next-day rotation if first attempted contact is less than 12 hours prior to report --->Proffer
Next-day rotation if first attempted contact is 12 or more hours prior to report ---> Not a proffer

The SIL issue was a bit more nuanced than some people appreciate, IMHO. Many of us see the value in a SIL at different values. But I still support DALPA shutting them down... since the company essentially violated PWA provisions to gain concurrence. DALPA was also concerned (as was I) that the company "skipped some steps" (paraphrasing here) in not enhancing QOL for more people in a category than just those who might have asked for or been awarded a SIL at a less-than-during-bankruptcy rate of 55 hours. Specifically, they reportedly didn't accept any RCC inputs for these supposedly over-manned categories, nor did they offer additional (fully paid) summer vacation weeks. I think there's a place for SILs-on-the-cheap (e.g., 40 hours or 25 hours) as long as some more widely-beneficial QOL items are in place first.

Looking at doing my first-ever full month drop in order to pick-up better stuff through any possible method. A couple of questions I have never learned the answer to:
1) If you drop to zero and then initially re-populate your schedule via the pilot swap board, do those accumulated credit hours that were in no way part of the original bid award still get used as a basis for calculating ALV+15, with ALV+15 remaining a pick up limit for pairings acquired via white slip or swap with pot? I'm fairly sure that ALV+15 does apply to a pilot swap board trip that would be the pairing that pushes you past ALV+15, but I'm not sure if the pilot swap board trips that reside below ALV+15 count toward that threshold.
Okay, not a couple of questions; that's it. But depending on the answer, it may best to refill initially with just pilot swap board pairings and then delve into regular PCS action later on in the month. Thanks!

You have 10 minutes to respond. So don't answer the phone, look at your schedule to see if you want to do it. If you don't, they will move on to another pilot. So in reality it is a proffer.

So... you only have 10 minutes to respond if it is more than 3 hours to departure, otherwise they may move on immediately to the next pilot.
Even so, I never answer the phone, and I dearly hope we never start using ARCOS for white slips.

I think we can all agree that logging into icrew is unnecessarily painful. Particularly for out of base stuff, though, it is essential to identify deviate from deadhead opportunities (among other details one considers when contemplating acceptance). Having this in ARCOS would make me a fan, as long as viewing something in ARCOS never constitutes acknowledgement.
