I purchased the UFlyMike combo for the QC25s the day they came out. This was about 2 years ago I believe, AFTER waiting years for them to finally even finish the product. So two years later, and they still aren’t TSO certified. While the UFlyMike Harmony setup is fantastic, don’t expect much from the company itself. Their promises and timelines mean absolutely nothing.

I am completely uneducated in this area. Without TSO certification would a UFlyMike headset technically be the same thing as using any other personal electronic device in the cockpit, in the eyes of a fed in my jumpseat?

A fed in your jumpseat would find the company-provided headset fully compliant.

Yeah, and the hand mic and completely inaudible speaker as well I suppose. Seems logical that MCAS was good to go but gotta protect the flying public from a converted consumer headset.

I am going to call the companies to verify, but I'm pretty sure Bose and DC have Delta discounts, not sure about Clarity Aloft. If they all have 30 day trial periods I think I'll just buy them all and return 2, anybody else done something similar? Considering the DC Pro-X, Bose ProFlight, and Clarity Aloft Flex; 3 different manufacturers with 3 different styles of headset.

Curious if anybody else here has done this kind of test and how the return process worked out for them.

I have the DC Pro X. They do not offer an airline or military discount. You may be able to find a slightly used one on eBay, but plan on full price otherwise. BTW I really like mine in the 717.

I don't know of any Delta discount on Bose, but I did buy mine in a no-sales-tax state.

Bose is on the Delta Perks page, I called DC and with your employee number you get $50 off. Clarity Aloft has no discounts normally; however, they are running an annual Oshkosh discount, use code SNF2019 for $30 off for the next couple days.

EDIT: just called Bose, they don't honor the discount on their headsets

EDIT 2: In case anybody else is interested, DC has a 4 week and Bose has an undetermined length back order so you'll have to get those 2 from a 3rd party vendor.

I guess I missed out on that one. I called and scowered the web and couldn’t find anything. The Pro X is worth it though. Good luck with your choice.

I think the DC discount is relatively new. I scoured this board for other threads regarding headsets, and in one from 2017 DC had discounts for AA and SWA but not DAL.
