I’d bet my 401k that it’s more of the 220 variety

Personally, I don’t mind riding in the back of one, if it’s not a hot summer day. They’re quiet, and ride pretty nice. I’m always comfortable in back as long as it’s not the last few rows, which is what I usually get as a non rev...a middle seat in the last row or two.

Maybe it’ll be some A320 Neo’s with the A220 1’s and 3’s.

You’re probably right. The MD-88 flying can be covered by a mix of 319-320 flying. We have 100 321Neo’s that start coming next year. What we need is a replacement for the 717 that (probably) goes away in 4-6 years(??). A mix of A220 100’s and 300’s will cover that flying. I guess we could use some more of the 130-160 seat aircraft.

I bet we never order 320 NEO’s.

No, but if Airbus does build a 220-500 (which sounds like the plan) it will be a perfect 319 replacement. It’s almost a given that the 717 replacement will be the 220. And yes.....some of those old 320’s have seen better days.
