VP of Network said yesterday via Velvet that SEA-HKG lost 20 million a year. Asked if we'd ever go back, he seemed to allude that we may, but NYC-HKG makes more sense with the banking industry connection.
I’d love to see NYC-HKG but Cathay does 5x daily(1 EWR, 3JFK and 1JFK via YVR), and UAL does one as well. Very saturated market but what do I know? With that said, if I work in NYC and need to connect in Seoul or PVG to connect to HKG, I’m flying on CX, not DL and codeshare/JVs.
