Coincidently, Delta currently flies to NRT from SEA, PDX, DTW, ATL, and HNL from the US (they also have SIN and MNL).

Yes, somber fact indeed likely no more layovers at the firehouse or a sling at raffles during those layovers. Pretty fun destinations indeed.

Arent 3 of the awards serviceable by 330/330neo and even 767/5?
Dtw/atl i guess is likely 777/350 territory.
There are i think 35-330neos starting to arrive in near future.

I think by and large that order is to replaces 763ERs. Obviously not all 56 of them, but at least 35 that warrant upgauging. For now it's literally taking over their routes, not opening up anything new. My guess is 763s earmarked for retirement stick around to cover for 764 and 332/333 interior mod removal from service.

Same reason we fly to LGA and JFK, SFO and SJC, LAX and SNA, DAL and DFW, and DCA and IAD.

I don't think we (or anybody) do any long haul international out of LGA, SJC, DAL, or DCA but I can't find my paper time table pamphlet either so I guess I'll have to defer to your 21st century perspective.
