It's a good result for Haneda - but I'd expect there will be "adjustments" to other Pacific flying, including Narita.

It came down to a choice between p!ss alley and superstars. The clincher was when we lost the popcorn machine.

I think management had their hands tied.

Delta asked for SEA, PDX, DTW, ATL, and HNL x2.
Delta was awarded SEA, PDX, DTW, ATL, and HNL x1.

Coincidently, Delta currently flies to NRT from SEA, PDX, DTW, ATL, and HNL from the US (they also have SIN and MNL).

I honestly think Delta is going to just abandon NRT and shift those 5 flights over to HND with the new slots. I think the SIN and MNL flights will just go away. Delta is at a big disadvantage in Japan as they don't have a JV partner (While United has ANA and American has JAL). What do you think?

Call me ignorant, I've only gone through HND. What, if any, are the benefits for any airline to fly to NRT.?

5th freedom rights is all I can think of, and ever since Tokyo fixed up HND for big international operations, the 5th freedom rights aren’t the advantage they used to be, unfortunately.
