Here we have a good example of the pitfalls of this sort of technology (FF). Just imagine if it were some pilot saying something like "it's broken but we will press on" or "the FA is _______" and it gets forwarded to the media... can you say "Field Day?" Consider it a warning to not put anything on it you don't want picked up and misconstrued as unsafe or non-PC. After this whole incident with SD on CNN I could see the company rethinking FF and @workplace.

"Delta Pilots Flew a BROKEN Airplane With Passengers". Is that really so hard to imagine how this happens?! Clearly, it's already happened once with this story.

It's a real time texting app that the entire crew and flight support/ACS, Tower, etc is looped in on. It is active for every flight. Participation is voluntary. It's nice for example that the FAs can ask for ice without having the pilots call. It's obvious downside is that it is now apparent that we have crew sending copied messages directly to media outlets when they disagree with the outcome/message!

Some people think that because it's on a tablet, it's automatically social media. I'll have to open up my email social media to get the flight plan. I also have to open up my travelnet social media app to book travel.

If they'd simply relabel "Ramp Tower" "Operations," (because it's operations, not the ramp tower.) And if said "Operations" actually signed in and responded, I'd have a lot more faith in it.
