After this whole incident with SD on CNN I could see the company rethinking FF and @workplace.
Why? Would you send that via ACARS? Would you say that over the radio? FF is OFFICIAL company communication. If you don't want what you typed to end up in the hands of FAA, NTSB, etc, then don't type it.

Integrity... doing what's right even when FF isn't recording.

I agree! But this technology makes it WAY too easy for someone in the loop, even inadvertently in the loop, to screenshot and send anonymously.

"Delta Pilots Flew a BROKEN Airplane With Passengers". Is that really so hard to imagine how this happens?! Clearly, it's already happened once with this story.

It's a real time texting app that the entire crew and flight support/ACS, Tower, etc is looped in on. It is active for every flight. Participation is voluntary. It's nice for example that the FAs can ask for ice without having the pilots call. It's obvious downside is that it is now apparent that we have crew sending copied messages directly to media outlets when they disagree with the outcome/message!

It's a social media platform in the same way that 131.85 is a social media platform...

Some people think that because it's on a tablet, it's automatically social media. I'll have to open up my email social media to get the flight plan. I also have to open up my travelnet social media app to book travel.

If they'd simply relabel "Ramp Tower" "Operations," (because it's operations, not the ramp tower.) And if said "Operations" actually signed in and responded, I'd have a lot more faith in it.
