I don’t. The best thing I’ve ever done is about 7 years ago I just stopped watching the news. I read a story here or there and maybe I watch 15 minutes of CNBC but that’s it. I always figured if they were so wrong about stuff I knew about they have to be just as wrong about stuff I don’t know about. Plus, it has the added benefit of when someone wants to talk politics in the cockpit I can just say - I really couldn’t care less.

If the news is important enough, they’ll preempt whatever I’m actually watching.....

There is a complete melt down over on Chit Chat in regard to this topic especially over the lack of protections provided by the PWA.

As I understand it, Capt Petite was evaluated by a Delta chosen AME and found to be not fit to fly. Her AME disagreed. In accordance with Section 15 of the PWA a third neutral AME was chosen, and that AME sided with her AME.

So far the transcripts have been a disturbing read. Alot of dirty laundry of all parties involved is out there in the public view. Wonder if this case is the reason Flt Ops Weekly Updates haven't been done by JG like SD used to do.

Yep, one of our board participants is going to have an absolute meltdown.

Better to have one here than in the cockpit.

Generally, I turn on the tube for about 5 seconds. If they're not showing evacuation routes out of the city, I consider myself good.
